Terms and Conditions – Ourhotels

General Information

By making a reservation with Ourhotels, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all bookings made directly or indirectly through our platforms, including agencies.


Booking and Cancellation Policy

For Bookings of 4 Rooms or Less:

  • Cancellations made 7 days or less before arrival: 100% cancellation fee (applies to both cancellations and no-shows).
  • All cancellations must be made in writing via email to info@ourhotels.is. Phone cancellations are not valid.
  • Confirmation of cancellation is only valid once reconfirmed in writing by Ourhotels.

For Group Bookings (5 Rooms or More):

  • Cancellations made 4 weeks or more before arrival: Full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 4 weeks of arrival: 100% cancellation fee.
  • Partial cancellations (room reductions within a group) made 0–4 weeks prior are treated as cancellations, and the above policy applies.
  • Final rooming lists are not required for cancellation fees to apply.
  • It is the responsibility of the booking agency to ensure cancellations are submitted on time.

Klettasel Villa Bookings:

  • Cancellations made 4 weeks or more before arrival: Full refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 4 weeks before arrival: No refund.

Additional Charges:

  • Dinner cancellations made 0–3 days before arrival: Fully charged.
  • Ourhotels reserves the right to enforce cancellation fees without exception.

For Individual Guests (Direct Bookings)

Liability for Damages
The guest who made the reservation is fully responsible for any damages caused during the stay. This includes damage to hotel property, furnishings, or missing items from the room. The cost of repair, cleaning, or replacement will be charged to the booking holder’s credit card on file.

Smoking Policy
Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited in all hotel rooms and indoor common areas. In accordance with Icelandic law, any violation of this policy will result in a €500 fine to cover deep cleaning and room downtime.

Room Damage or Missing Items
Guests are responsible for any damage to rooms or missing items discovered after checkout. Charges will be assessed based on the actual cost of repair or replacement.


For Travel Agencies (Third-Party Bookings)

Liability for Damages
The travel agency making the reservation is responsible for any damage or loss caused by their clients during their stay. Any costs for repairs, cleaning, or replacement will be billed directly to the agency.

Smoking Policy
Guests booked through travel agencies must comply with our non-smoking policy. Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes indoors are prohibited by Icelandic law. Any violation will incur a €500 fee, billed to the agency, to cover cleaning and room downtime.

Room Damage or Missing Items
If guests booked through an agency cause damage or remove items from the room, the travel agency will be held financially responsible. Charges will reflect the cost of returning the room to its original condition.


Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: From 15:00 (local time).
  • Check-out: By 11:00 (local time).

Early Check-In

  • Subject to availability and may incur a fee.
  • To guarantee early check-in, guests must book the night before at the full rate.
  • Requests can be made via email: info@ourhotels.is.

Late Check-Out

  • Subject to availability and may incur a fee (available until 14:00).
  • Must be requested in advance or during the stay via email: info@ourhotels.is.

Hotel Amenities

Breakfast

  • Included at all locations except the Klettasel Villa.
  • Served daily from 07:00–09:00.
  • Breakfast to-go is not available.
  • Options include lactose-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free selections. Please ask our staff for details.

Parking

  • Parking is free of charge for all guests.
  • Ourhotels does not accept liability for theft, damage, or loss. Guests should secure their vehicles and remove valuables.
  • During heavy snow, lot cleaning may be delayed. Please ensure adequate rental car insurance.

Wifi

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi is available at all locations.

Property Policies

Noise & Disturbance

  • No parties or loud gatherings allowed in guest rooms or hallways.
  • Quiet hours are from 23:00 to 07:00.
  • Violations may result in eviction without refund.

Laundry

  • No laundry facilities are available for guest use.

Children & Pets

  • Children of all ages are welcome.
  • Pets are not allowed, unless stated otherwise for specific locations.

Airport Transfers

  • Airport shuttle service is not available.
